The proposal creates a recuperation centre in Saltcoats, taking ownership of post-tourist outdoor swimming pools. This combines coastal regeneration efforts while empowering people with a greater mental resilience. Locals residents are provided access to the facilities to improve health where it is needed the most. A culture of sharing knowledge on self-healthcare while connecting users with professionals’ help empowering people to take better care of their mental health. Short stay residents can get support for changing problematic elements of lifestyle while reconnecting with the landscape around them.
This pioneering model of healthcare encourages a return to the seaside, while helping improve mental resilience and wellbeing.
